Mission

Our mission is to pioneer innovative approaches for stabilizing vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques in carotid arteries and halting the progression of AAA disease. Through comprehensive research utilizing human biobank materials, preclinical models, and cutting-edge organoid systems, we aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms and genetic factors governing the fate of vascular smooth muscle cells within fibrous caps of advanced lesions. Our focus extends to understanding the roles of non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs, long non-coding RNAs, and circular RNAs, in cardiovascular homeostasis and disease development. By developing novel models and treatment strategies, we strive to translate our findings into effective therapeutic interventions that improve patient outcomes and reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease.
